About Us

 

The Semiconductor India magazine is being produced in association with the ISA (Indian Semiconductor Association) and EuroAsia Semiconductor.

 

  • The primary objective of ISA is to act as a catalyst for the growth of the Semiconductor industry in India.

    Other objectives include:
    Create global awareness for Indian semiconductor industry outside of the generic “IT” umbrella
  • Create a win-win interaction amongst semiconductor product and services companies, government, academia, venture capitalists and industry bodies
  • Create an enabling ecosystem that catalyzes industry’s growth and leadership
  • Enhance operational efficiency
  • Foster active collaboration between industry and universities to further expand the available world class semiconductor talent pool
  • Identification of investment opportunities
  • Drive technology vision for the semiconductor industry
  • The publishers of EuroAsia Semiconductor have been providing the semiconductor community with informed coverage of this very fast moving industry for almost thirty years

Poornima Shenoy is the first President of ISA. She has nineteen plus years of experience as an entrepreneur and marketing professional of which she has spent over thirteen years with the Information Technology sector.


Prior to joining ISA, Poornima was with the Manipal Education & Medical Group as Vice President, Strategy and Development. She has been the Regional Director of the software industry body NASSCOM and was instrumental in setting up their first office in South India-the core of India’s information technology industry. Earlier, Poornima co-founded Nexus Consulting, which went on to become India’s premier executive search firm for the knowledge sector. Nexus was acquired by the K.B. Chandrasekhar venture fund e4e in 2000.


Poornima is a recipient of the prestigious Chevening Scholarship for Women in Leadership & Management 2003 by the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office. She is co-founder of the group Women in Business & Technology (WBT). Poornima is on the Editorial Advisory Board of EE Times India.


She is an Economics graduate from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore and holds an MBA from TAPMI, Manipal.

David Ridsdale has been editor in chief of EuroAsia Semiconductor and related products for over six years. Prior to this he was editor of Semiconductor Fabtech. In that time he has developed three new magazines and a number of online services for the microelectronics community. David has being a strong supporter of the European based microelectronics community and has moderated at a number of European led initiatives. David comes from an eclectic background, actually starting as a psychiatric nurse in Australia before entering journalism and writing via the Australian film industry. One of the first students in a writing course geared to film and television he worked in a variety of roles in film and television in Australia before combining a natural love of technology and writing. On arriving in England eight years ago, David joined the semiconductor industry and has become a well recognised commentator on the industry.

David has developed a reputation for interviewing key industry figures and enabling a more human presentation of the work of important individuals in the industry. When conducting profiles of individuals and companies he is likely to delve beyond the technical and business aspects and draw out the personality of the company or individual, as who people work with is as important as the knowledge they bring.
